What owners report
ProductReview.com.au listed 19 reviews for this model when checked, with a 2.1 average and 69 percent marked negative. Several verified Australian owners say the unit cleans floors, climbs walls, and scrubs the waterline when it is running, including a 65 square-metre fibreglass pool in Western Australia. Many later reviews report the same unit failing within months: dead batteries, wheels lifting off the floor, power-button faults, and warranty repairs that failed again. One South Australian owner said Aiper told them spare parts for the Scuba S1 Pro were unavailable in Australia during a 2026 repair, then offered a partial refund they declined.
On Whirlpool, Australian owners of the Scuba S1 Pro describe firmware as a split: some units updated over Wi-Fi to v1.1.2 and then climbed walls, others stayed on v1.0.0 with the app saying they were fully updated. One owner sent a unit back after about ten uses and received a replacement. Another had replacement S1 Pro units that were still stuck on v1.0.0.
A Gold Coast household that ran the Scuba S1 Pro in their own pool wrote that it climbed the walls, picked up sand the old cleaner missed, and had a filter basket they found easy to empty. They still kept a hose cleaner for longer trips, because this robot has to be lifted out and put on charge. They also noted the unit is heavy once full of water.
Known issues
- Repeated battery, charging, and drive faults reported within the first 12 to 18 months
- Warranty repairs that fail again, and spare-part delays in Australia
- Some units stuck on firmware v1.0.0
- Heavy to lift when the basket is full of water
- No app control once the unit is underwater
- Debris spilling on retrieval or the basket flap jamming
- Fine debris bypassing the 3 μm pad
